Several tailor shops, two traditional costume shops, a wedding shop and two students, Marius Merkle (Schondorf) and Wolfgang Scheitz (Herrsching), have joined forces in the regional initiative "Ammersee Masks".
Our aim is to ensure that the demand for masks is met locally and that together we can overcome this crisis in the best possible way. With high-quality Bavarian traditional costumes - cotton fabrics, which we have processed into double-layer masks with or without an insert pocket, with or without hangers. For ideal wearing comfort the straps can be individually adjusted to the size of the wearer. All masks are in stock and can be packed within 24 h after ordering.
The masks that were produced at the Ammersee (Ammersee masks) are intended to provide additional protection for the population. The masks do not offer a completely safe protection in any respect, only an additional remedy. In particular, they should not be confused with medically verified respiratory masks, which are particularly important for nursing staff and hospitals.
We want to live in a world in which, despite CoViD-19, a pleasant living together with fellow human beings is possible.
We are firmly convinced that every individual is needed to effectively counteract a possible resurgence of the new disease after the initial restrictions have been relaxed.
Mouth and nose covers can make a decisive contribution to the containment of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
We therefore motivate citizens to wear a mask in everyday life and to provide additional protection for other people. We are in dialogue with interested parties with the aim of achieving broad social acceptance. A reusable mask made of high-quality cotton offers an opportunity to take an active solidarity-based approach to the virus.
